Biography:

I was born in Hialeah, FL but raised in Cooper City, FL. I graduated from Cooper City High School in 2001 and took some time to work before I enrolled into college. I started at Broward Community College and then transferred to Nova Southeastern University in Fall 2005. Little did I know that transferring to Nova Southeastern University would change my life as I knew it.

I began as a double major in Sports and Recreation Management and Business Administration but then concentrated on my passion which was Sports and Recreation Management. I was extremely active as an undergraduate student by getting involved with the Undergraduate Student Government, Order of Omega, Alpha Chi National Honor Society, Delta Epsilon Iota National Honor Society, and Student Employment within the Division of Student Affairs. After graduation, I enrolled in the Masters of College Student Affairs program after working in the Division of Student Affairs for three years, but realized after a semester that I wanted to pursue my dream of working in the sports industry.

I became a brother of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. because ever since my parents got divorced a few years back I had forgotten what it felt like to have a family. The road was long and tough but it was the most rewarding experience of my life. There is nothing that you will do in your life where you will learn more about yourself than through the experience of becoming of brother of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. Biography:

I was born in a small town in Brazil called Caçador on September 24, 1987. I lived their for only four months with my mom until we moved to my grandmother’s city of Palmas in the near by state. I lived in Brazil for the first eight years of my life where I encountered a life full of challenges. I was raised in a city where crime was everywhere and you had to fight to live another day. During those there was a very profitable Drug trade with the interior cities of our state and the base for this trade was less than a mile from my house. That just gives you an Idea of the environment that surrounded me. Lucky for me I was raised by a very honest family one whose name was respected throughout the town. Because of that we weren’t harassed as much as everyone else. All in all I had a great childhood in Brazil I fought to gain respect but enjoyed life none-the-less.

Fast Forward…….

On September 28, 1995 My mother and I embarked in journey that would forever change our lives. We came to the Deerfield Beach, Florida, where I would live until the day that I came to college. My life in Deerfield was also a rollercoaster. Living in a single parent household was difficult. A lot of sacrifices were made which included me giving up sports and other things to work so I could help my family. However, despite our difficulties and many barriers God has always blessed my other and I with strength and perseverance. We never gave up on anything we desired. We fought for everything we have to this day. We are proud of what we came from and where we are today.

The current chapter of my life is college. I am now in my third year at Nova Southeastern University and so far have had the time of my life. I have learned a lot about life, people and most of all myself. I have made lifetime friendship and have obtained knowledge that will help me in very aspect of my life.  In the fall semesters of 2008 I became part of an amazing brotherhood that has change mind life. Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Incorporated has helped open my eyes and see life and myself in a different way. Since becoming a brother I have seem so much personal growth. Lambda Theta Phi has surpassed all of my expectations. The brotherhood is real and you see it and feel everyday. I feel blessed to be part of this Lambda Family.

Biography:

I was born in Miami, Fl.  Son of Marvin Avant and Norma Jones.  I have a younger brother Arsenio, who is 2 and half years younger than me.  I was raised by both my parents. However, they divorced when I was 9 and I moved to Broward County with my mother.  This is where my love for the game of basketball started and grew to what it is today.

I grew up in the Marti Huizange Boys and Girls Club and  spent my days and nights playing basketball.  By the time I was 10 years old I knew I wanted to make a career out of the game.  I’ve always been competitive and motivated by what others told me I couldn’t do.  All my friends growing up, all they cared about was scoring and this is how I discovered my love for passing.   So I didn’t choose to become  a point guard.  It chose me.

I graduated from Cypress Bay High School in 2005 with a scholarship to play basketball at the United States Naval Academy.  After a few months at Prep School I decided to return home to be with my family.  I would go on to attend  Florida Gulf Coast University  in January of 2006.  I was named starting point guard the second I stepped on campus and we saw much success as a team.  After I was hampered by injury my sophomore year I decided to transfer and play along side my little brother who received a basketball scholarship to play here at Nova Southeastern.  It was a great experience for me and I’m thankful for the opportunity I was given to play college basketball.  A lot of high school athletes aren’t given that chance.

When my collegiate playing career was over I finally had time to focus on other things besides basketball and although I had never given  Greek life any thought but  that would soon change.  After speaking with some friends of mine that had gone Greek and a fellow brother of Lambda Theta Phi, Andrew Ibrahim it pricked my curiosity and I decided to give it a chance.

My experience of becoming brother was nothing like thought it would be and came as a bit of a shock.  However, I do feel it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.  I have been blessed to have so many great people to surround me.  This Brotherhood isn’t like anything I’ve ever known.  Its so much more than what you see on TV or movies.  It’s a bond that we share that no one cant take from us and I’m thankful for it.  God Bless Lambda Theta Phi, Latin Fraternity Inc.

Biography:

I was born on November 11, 1988 in Hialeah, Florida, to Orlando and Minerva Pizarro. My parents moved us to Reading, Pennsylvania, when I was about a year old, then quickly to a small town on the countryside of Pennsylvania called Centerport. From there we eventually made our way back to Florida. We moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, near my mother’s family, where I attended Jefferson Davis Middle School, then Lake Worth Community High School. Throughout my childhood and through graduating from high school, music was my number one priority. I’ve played saxophone since I was in 3rd grade and have been singing around the house and at church since before I can remember.

I had wanted to attend Nova Southeastern University since I was a freshman in high school, so finally walking onto campus on check-in day it was a huge deal for me and my parents, as I am the first person on my father’s side of the family to attend college and only the second on my mother’s side.

From Fall 2007 to Fall 2008, I committed myself to the most rewarding journey I could have ever embarked. I am so grateful for everything this Fraternity has taught me and look forward to what the future holds.
